Baking

I got on a baking kick again last week. It was bad. Matt just finished off the last of it today. It wasn't the most fattening thing I've ever made so that was good but it wasn't particularly good for you either. As you can see from my previous post; I was trying to recreate this dessert. I think it turned out pretty good!

On Line Version:

My version:

It turned out pretty good. Although, my favorite part of a apple pie is probably the crust so I needed to do something better with the crust. So I make another batch and tried something new.

Peeled, cored and chopped 4 apples. Threw them in a pan with some butter.

Added 1 tsp cinnamon and 2 Tbs Sugar or to taste ( the previous recipe i got of the internet said to put in 1 TBS of cinnamon. It was too much! I ended up having to add a ton more sugar to even it out!)

That part is done. Now, instead of taking the Pillsbury dough and cutting it into cinnamon strips like I did with the previous recipe, I decided to try putting it in the bottom of my muffin tin and see what happens. I got a large plastic cup out of my cupboard and used it as a cookie cutter to cut the dough. I sprayed the muffin tin with non-stick cooking spray and then set the circle into the bottom and lightly pressed it down. Than I added the apple filling and popped it into the oven for about 9 min!

Out they came in no time at all! Golden brown crust, soft cinnamon apples on the inside. I grabbed some bluebell vanilla ice cream and was automatically in heaven. All in all it took maybe 20ish min to pull this one off. Very little ingredients.

Butter, Sugar, cinnamon, Apples- two apples makes a dozen little apple cups. and one pkg of Pillsbury pie crusts ( you can get 14 mini crusts out of one pkg depending on the size of your cup diameter.
