The Mansfield stomach bug is coming your way!!

I pride myself on a good immune system. Partly because I work at a hospital and I fell like I have antibodies built up for almost every bug known to man and also because I was breastfed!! Wooohoo! BUT there have been a few times in my life that it has failed me. One of those times is now. The only reason I have the energy to lay in bed and write this is because I've been sleeping all day (if Im not in the bathroom) and needed something else to do between my meetings with the porcelain throne. I've lost 7 lbs since yesterday if that tells you anything. Not fun.

Addison is in bed sleeping right now...again. This is very unusual for her. She hardly ever takes two and three naps a day. Her temperature is 100.3 and you can always tell because she starts getting really cuddly and just wants to be held. She is the one that started this throwing up thing on Sunday night around midnight. I hear her start to cry after being asleep for a while which is odd. I decided to not wait it out but go see whats wrong. I am so glad I did because the minute I opened her door I could smell throw-up. She was pretty much covered in it from head to toe. Even in her hair and her eyes. I am not one of those die hard parents who lets there child cry and refuses to at least check on them (there are moms out there like that....even books dedicated to it). I think that borders on child neglect personally. (don't get me started) Well I yell for matt and he runs in as Addison starts vomiting all over me a second time. All I can think is what a horrible feeling for an 11 month old. Matt starts the bath and I put her in it trying to get the chucks out of her hair from her dinner. Sorry if TMI. I ended up laying her on my chest on the couch for the remainder of the night. Poor baby. Matt ran to the store to get some Pedialyte. Addy dry heaved about 7 times during the night. It was horrible. Each time I'd sit her up and hold her head and then she would just collapse in my arms sound asleep. In the morning she was better, no more vomiting. Relief!!! But now three days later she has a fever and is not completely over it I guess.

Matt was the second to get sick, then me. Matt's fever finally broke about an hour ago. He's feeling a lot better. I however, do not. Thankfully, we are not all sick at the same time.

Lord, heal our family soon!

  1. Oh no!! Not a good time to live in Mansfield, then. I don't seem to have any issues, except these darn allergies. They are kicking my bootie big time!! Feel better y'all!!
