So I have always hated running. I remember being in elementary school in like 4th grade and having to run a mile for P.E. class. I dreaded it all day and was one of the last to finish. As an adult, I always found other types of exersize to do to prevent me from having to run. But when I grin and bare it and make myself actually do it (along with some persuading from Matt)... I love how it makes me feel afterwards. At first I dreaded it and I still do if I have not done it in a while, but the past couple days I have actually looked foward to it. Maybe because I have new workout clothes and shoes to wear that I got for Christmas...maybe it's because I love the way my legs feel the next day. I hope I can learn to make it a habit and learn to miss it when I don't do it.

* and no I did not brave the rain to work out. I draw the line at bad weather. I'm not that die hard of a runner yet to even attempt going out in the frigid cold or while it's raining. This will have to be my off day.
way to go Katie!! I admire you for taking up running. I LOATHE it myself, even though I ran cross-country in high school, I still hate it. When we'd be running during cross-country practice I would pray that God would let me slip off a curb and break my ankle. Why in the world did I ever run if I had thoughts like that?! lol! You can do it girl!! I need to start exercising again and a food diary is a great idea!! I know I cheat too many times and have sweets. If we don't have any in the house, I will even grab a handful of chocolate chips... sad, I know! LOL!
ReplyDeleteI had no idea you loathed running? I thought you loved it because you used to go running when we were roomies. I remember going with you once and was about to die! I think that is hilarious that you wanted to break your ankle while running! We think very much the same....as usual. I cheat pretty much once a day but as long as I know I'll have to confess it I might not do it as much! haha!
