More Favorite things

So while I've had strep throat, I used my time wisely to look through HGTV's web site and find some good ideas/color schemes. I begged Matt to paint our kitchen red when we first moved in and he pain-stankingly did it for me even though it was very annoying and labor intensive. (took three coats!). I'm sorry to say I don't really like it anymore! haha! When I told me he gave me this "are you kidding" look and said I had to paint it myself next time! haha! Here are some ideas that I really like for all rooms of our home. Our cabinets are in good condition and are pretty large so all we need to do is paint them.

I've always wanted to have an open air kitchen. Where the back doors are glass and can open up wide to the backyard. I'm a big natural light, fresh air kinda gal. If I lived in Hawaii or someplace in the US that was a little cooler year around I think it would fit better though.

I really love this fire place how clean it looks. I've always loved the sky blue/ sea foam green for a nursery. We have all chocolate brown furniture in Addy's room and I've been looking for a new color for her walls besides pink. I'm so over pink.

I LOVE this kitchen. Matt and I want to paint our cabinets white sometime in the next few years and I've been looking for a kitchen to show us what it will look like. Do you like the butcher block island? I think it adds a nice cottage/rustic touch. Matt isn't sure that he really likes it.

The curtains are cute in this pic. Our kitchen table is that same color so it's easy to visualize what our kitchen will look like.

This living room looks a lot like our right now. Red brick fireplace, neutral walls. I like it but Im always looking for ways to spice up the space.

Now THIS is an open air kitchen! Isn't that awesome!!! I love it. The entire back wall of this house are glass doors that roll away. Perfect for parties!

Another kitchen with white cabinets and neutral colors. Love the big island.

I really like the tile they picked for this kitchen. I think they might have gone a little bit overboard with the sheer volume of it, but I like the style/color.

I LOVE the striped wall. I have been thinking about doing two small walls in the living room with large stripes on them. This is a good example.

  1. I like stripes too! I have some inspiration pictures of more neutral stripes that I just love...it's bold but still subtle.
